On Sunday 12th March Lynch Plant and Haulage worked with our client Costain on an 'Earthworks' project. This task involved using a haulage team of six operatives on turn around to the local depot at Dartford, along with two experienced PTS operatives loading the lorries and grading the site to the required level.
The task was to remove between 30 – 35 loads away on the Sunday within strict shift times as the railway lines between Dartford and Bluewater had to be closed for safety reasons. This work is all part of the South East frame network project running over the next 3 years. This 'Earthworks' project was stage one of the development at Stone Cross Station to create a new state of the art pedestrian / cycle crossing.
Further works will be carried out through the summer at weekends to keep the normal train service running during the week. The site's next task is importing a suitable material for piling mat and compaction ready for the foundations of the bridge.
'We have been supporting our customer from start to finish on this project' commented Liam Moore, Project Delivery Manager for Lynch. 'We are keen to work with our customer to ensure everything runs smoothly and on time'
