Lynch unveil updated range of safety devices on its fleet of lorries and tractor units

"We have researched the best possible combination of safety upgrades, the end product being a huge enhancement over previous Lynch models,” said Rob Lynch, “We want to do everything possible to make London's roads a safer place, our substantial investment shows our intent."

The two key features in the upgrade are a side scanning system and side protection rails. The side scan system alerts drivers of pedestrians or cyclist that enters their blind spot on the curb side of the lorry. The side protection rails act as a barrier against persons falling under a lorry/coming into serious contact with a lorry.

These new features, combined with the existing high safety specifications that Lynch demand, ensure a fleet of lorries fully compliant with the most demanding of sites and projects.

Stephen Bremner, the Lynch Project Manager who has been responsible for introducing this upgrade says, "It has been lot of hard work and investment, but we are proud to have progressed our lorries to this standard. We are encouraged that major contractors now specify such features on their projects. Together with our additional lorry driver training, our transport operation has become safer."
