The safety of our plant operators and anyone who works with our equipment is of primary importance to Lynch.
We are proud of our excellent safety record as quite simply, we realise that there can be no compromise with the well being of our site personnel. Lynch operators are directly employed by us, meaning they are trained up to our specified standards. They will liase with all staff on safety related issues.
Compliance with current legislation:
We are pro-active on our compliance with legislation, codes of practice and safety bulletins. We anticipate and are prepared to address further compliance issues as they become known.
Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998:
Our equipment is assured as 'fit for purpose' via our established plant maintenance schedule. Our operators are trained to perform an all round check of their machine before they start work each day. Reporting of defects is enabled and communicated to site and our office via our operators weekly sheet.
Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998:
The Record of Thorough Lifting Examination or Lifting Certificate for short is conducted once every 12 months. The certificate is always held in the cab of the machine so it is available for inspection by site. Operators again are trained to perform a daily check on 'lift critical' elements of the machine. In response to heightened risk identified with the use of Quick Hitches, we have communicated a recent safety bulletin to our operators and performed certified safety checks on all our quick hitches. The safety certificate for the quick hitch is also always held in the cab.
Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999:
It is our responsibility to safeguard the lives of our workforce in a dangerous environment. We have conducted risk assessments on the activities of our Grab, Transporter and Crane operators and accordingly produced method statements, which have been communicated to our operators.
All staff at Lynch are made aware that there is an 'open door' policy to senior management for any issues relating to safety at work.
