Our apprentice Richard Hunt has got a real buzz after landing a placement on the ‘Pipeline’ project. Richard has been on site for just over a month and has been operating a full range of plant and equipment. The placement is with main contractor Skanska. “There is plenty of different types of work here and love playing my part, I am so grateful to Lynch for giving me the chance” commented Richard.
National Grid has to tunnel under the River Humber to replace an existing natural gas pipeline.
The project follows detailed environmental and engineering studies carried out over the last year, together with the comments of local people given during public consultation on a number of options for the replacement pipeline held in December 2014.
The tunnel will run from the existing National Grid site near to Paull, on the north bank of the Humber, directly across the river to the existing site near to Goxhill, on the south bank.
