Today is Clean Air Day.

We all have a part to play in keeping our air clean, and at Lynch, this is something that we take very seriously. We understand that it is our responsibility to ensure that fuel consumption is low, and productivity is high. The construction industry is evolving and the need to minimise the impact on the environment is higher than ever.

We understand that one of the best ways that we can make a positive impact is through behavioural change. For over two years, we have been delivering our Eco Driver Training across the UK to our customers, and most importantly, to Operators. Delivering this training has allowed us to upskill over 500 Operators.

Our Eco Driver Training helps Operators to reduce carbon emissions while working on-site, and covers:

  • The importance of Pre-start checks
  • Checking each item of plant is well maintained and safe to use
  • Correct warming-up of the machine
  • Using correct power modes for the task
  • Reducing unnecessary idling and switching the machine off when it is not in use
  • Completing the correct shutdown procedure at the end of each shift
  • Having an understanding of how the engine works
  • Getting the best out of each machine and in-turn lowering emissions and fuel consumption

We will continue to deliver these very important sessions on our customer's sites and to our Operators.

As a company, we strive to be the best at what we do, and we understand the importance of sustainable working.

This Eco Driver Training is just one of the many things that we can do to lower emissions in our industry. We are proud of the progress we have made so far, and we are excited to work with our customers to continue having a positive impact.
